The Space Between

To first story
Picture

Martin Buber talked of the meeting of ‘I’ and ‘Thou’; Emanuel Levinas of encountering the ‘face’ of the Other.  Both call on the storyteller to stand vulnerable in front of young people, in a dialogue without premeditation or agenda.  But it cannot be so easy.  If we give ourselves over to the space Between, where might we end up?  How can we manage without plans or defences? And how will we establish the rules of engagement?
